CenterPoint Energy and AEP Texas are hosting a joint open house for local property owners to learn about and provide input on the proposed Hillje-Blu Lacy Transmission Improvement Project. The project is in the planning stages, and team members will be available to collect community feedback. (Note: Information shared will be the same as the open house hosted in Inez on July 30).

House of Representatives Interim Hearing on 765-kV lines - August 19, 2026 - 8:00a

The Texas House State Affairs Committee, chaired by Rep. Ken King, has announced an interim hearing on two charges: data centers and 765-kV transmission lines. A strong turnout is important. View the notice here. - Public Comment
In-person testimony may be limited to 2 minutes per witness, and the committee may close registration before everyone signs up gets a chance to speak. Registration opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 10:00 AM the day of the hearing. To save time, create your House Witness Registration profile in advance. You'll still need to register on-site for this specific item, but having a profile ready speeds things up. When registering, have the topic ("765-kV Transmission Lines"), committee ("State Affairs"), and time/location (8:00 AM, August 19, JHR 140) ready. Can't attend in person? Submit a public comment electronically, by selecting "765-kV Transmission Lines" from the dropdown (3,000 character limit). - Parking
